ARISING BY THE ARRIVAL

During the Olympics many disadvantaged neighbourhoods were evacuated. In some cases in order to recover space for the organisation, in others only to hide poverty in the eyes of foreign tourists. That scenario has been constantly overlooked by the major Brazilian media.
It is known that more than 77,000 people have lost their homes and for a long time the debris was left visible until a few months before the games began, when they finally disappeared.
As a response, I brought myself in the center of Rio de Janeiro with the rubble of the destroyed houses and some personal belongings left behind inside a travel luggage, to finally give it back to the ground.
